I know there hasn't been much activity in this group for a while; but while stumbling around Youtube for a bit, I came across an entire vault of alternate Led Zeppelin songs that I just had to share.
Alternate Songs:
This haunting take of "When The Levee Breaks" was recorded not long after the release of their third album in 1970.
From the Calaba box set, and alternate take of "No Quarter."
Alternate take and very different, "In The Light."
Alternate version of, "Battle of Evermore" recorded without Sandy Denny. Gives me chills every time I hear it.
Take nine of, "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You."
This chilling, mid eastern vibe version of "Friends."
Bombay session of, "Four Sticks."
A first recording of, "Stairway."
Some more rarities including unreleased and alternate.
Performances:
Jimmy Page and Roy Harper; 1984.
Led Zeppelin live in Toronto 1971.
An early "How Many More Times" in 1968; in my opinion one of Plant's best live vocal performances ever. At around the five minute mark, for the record that really is Robert's voice, not Jimmy's guitar. His range was insane.
Dazed and Confused at the same year and gig.
The Who's Keith Moon sharing the stage with Led Zeppelin; 6/23/77.
Offstage:
Robert Plant and Roger Daltrey together:
Robert Plant gets pied in the face on a U.K. kid's show in 1982.
Instrumentals:
An unreleased, beautiful Jimmy Page piano solo. (Yes, this is really Jimmy Page, not Jonesy here.)
Jimmy Page humming and strumming.
Feel free to suggest others in the comments, I'll add them on here!
